Suggest Treatment For Depression, Self Harming And Hyperventilation

Hi, i was wondering if i could have some advice on how to tell my grandparents about my self-harm, depression, my hyperventilation stages, and that i might be bipolar. They are the type of people who argue with me about how i m not and how i don t have these things but they just don t understand. So i was wondering if you had any advice for me about this, also i was wondering if you know any techniques about how to get rid of self harm scars. -Thank You please write back.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

With such symptoms you should worry on managing the symptoms than telling your grand parents about it. One possibility is to get a behavioural psychologist review and get individual or group sessions and also discuss with them to council the grand parents as they are experienced to council the families of the patients in a compassionate way. If symptoms persist pharmacological interventions and psychiatric review may be needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
