Suggest Treatment For Depression, Loss Of Weight And Lack Of Sleep
HI I was just recently at the doctor with symptoms of depression(thinking that would be my diagnosis), loss of weight and lack of sleep. I got blood work done to check my thyroid, everything was fine there however my bilirubin levels were elevated and the doctor now wants to do an ultra sound on my liver and gullbladder. Why would this be and what could he be looking for?
The possible explanation for your doctor along you to perform an ultrasound would be to make sure if you have any gall stones or other associated liver disorders. This is because elevated bilirubin means that there is a problem in synthesis, transport or elimination of bile in your body. This can be due to various reasons which can be further discussed if confirmed.
Next, for depression and sleeplessness your physician might give you a mild sedative or an SSRI both of which are not given without prescription. I would suggest that before entering into medical management of this condition try some lifestyle changes. Active lifestyle, yoga, relieving work and personal stress, good diet all of which can help you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Manoj Pradeep
