Hello,

Actually rower may cause undue stress on your back and increase your pain. The following are few treatment options for disc degeneration:
1) Pain medications like NSAIDs ibuprofen or Naproxen to be taken twice daily for 14 days.
2) If you have bleeding problems or kidney failure, NSAIDs are not recommended so you need to have opioids like hydrocodone oxycodone and Tramadol.
3) To prevent gastric irritation, you may use tab. Pantop before food.
4) Go to a physical therapy trainer and learn back strengthening exercises for pain relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
