Suggest Treatment For Crack On Top Of The Buttocks

Hey doc. This is my first time experiencing a medium crack ontop of my buttcrack. I am seven months pregnant and have numerous dark stretch marks on my butt that around the crack. I ve tried neosprin and preperation-h if I m saying it right. It hurts to shower when I m washing back there and it hurts to sit on the toilet cause it stretches the crack skin. What do I do??

Thanks for your query


You seem to be having Candidiasis of the natal cleft region.

First some general precautions:
Wear cotton clothes and undergarments in order to reduce the sweating.
Do not apply any kind of oils / moisturizing lotion over the affected area .
Just give warm saline compresses over the affected area twice a day and then apply an antifungal cream.
Something like clotrimazole cream helps in most cases.

In case of severe itching, take some antihistamine once a day .
If inspite of the above measures, the lesions continue to persist or increase , then you might have to see a dermatologist for proper assessment and management .
