Suggest Treatment For Coughs, Achy Body And Cold Sweats

What does it mean and should I be concerned if my boyfriend who is 24 years old, for a couple days now, coughing, sniffling, achy body, sensitive skin to the touch, cold sweats, and at first had a max body temperature of 101.6 and within less than 24 hours, his body temperature is now down to a low 91 degrees F*. Should we be concerned?!

Hello,

Your Bf is suffering from coughs, achy body and cold sweats. He is also febrile. Your partner needs rest and should be supplemented with water. fluids (juice, soups, warm beverage). Give him semi sold food like oats meal, porridge or custard so that he doesn't hurt his throat. He should take sips of water so that his throat stays moist. He can also keep cough lozenges for relief. He is suggested to gargle his throat two times a day, in the morning and evening.

He can take acetaminophen, one SOS when body ache or fever. He can take antihistamine at bed time and decongestants. He should be fine very soon. In case symptoms are persistent he may need a course of antibiotic like doxycycline for fast recovery. Before that get him tested for infection (sputum examination, throat swab).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Hello,

Your partner is suffering from cough, achy body and cold sweats. He is also febrile. He should take rest and take adequate water and warm soups and beverages. Give him semi solid diet like oats meal, porridge, custard so that he does not hurt his throat. He should gargle his throat 2-3 times a day with warm salt water and talk less to give voice rest.

He can take a course of antiviral medicines orally to get fit faster and prevent complications. He can take antihistamine, one SOS when needed to prevent allergic cough. He can take Acetaminophen / Combiflam, one SOS to get rid of body ache. Help him stay away from addictions if any. He should be better in 24-48 hours. If not he should get examined by a GP and treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
