Suggest Treatment For Cough And Congestion

Prominent bronchovascular markings r seen in both lungs, predominantly in both lower zones . Otherwise eveything in xray is normal. My husband is having fever and asthmatic cough and congestion and pain in chest while coughing. Xray was done yesterday. He is taking augmentin 625, bricarex A and duolin inhaler and recofast plus.now the fever is less but cough and pain and wheezing is still same.mucus is not coming out. Thanks.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion he is having bronchitis.
As symptoms like fever, cough, , congestion , chest pain on breathing etc are seen in bronchitis.
His treatment is proper. And fever is also gone which suggest treatment is working.
I advice these steps for decrease congestion and easy removal of secretion.
1. Avoid smoking, if he is smoker.
2. Drink plenty of fluids.
3. Start chest physiotherapy and deep breathing exercise.
34 You can also start n acetyl cystine (NAC). It is mucolytic, anti inflammatory and expectorant. So it will thin down the secretions and make it easy for expectation.
