Suggest Treatment For Constant Headache

My husband has had a severe constant headache for 4 days now. He has a clean health history. Recent hx: edemadous inguinal and axillary lymph nodes x 1 week.

About this headache: sensitivity to light, the pains move all around his head, but is not in his neck. When he leans over etc it starts "pounding". His PCP prescribed him Percocet 2 days ago and he is taking them q4h at this time, laying in bed with his head elevated on 3 pillows, dark quiet room, drinking plenty of water, and has ice and cool compresses around his head. The pain does reside slightly about an hour after taking ther Percocet, but he is half asleep when I'm checking on him...

However, this has now gone on 2 days straight (all of the rest with meds etc) that has PCP recommended, and there has been no improvement. I'm wondering if I should make him another appt with his PCP, ask for a neurology consult from him, or just take him to the ER. He is getting to the point where he can no stand the pain anymore.
