Hello,

Treatment with lifestyle changes like reducing the amount of fat in the diet, eliminating foods that contain caffeine or lactose, and not using NSAIDs.

Antidiarrheal medications such as bismuth subsalicylate and bulking agents reduce diarrhea.

Anti-inflammatory medications, such as mesalamine, sulfasalazine, and steroids including budesonide, reduce inflammation.

Immunosuppressive agents, which reduce the autoimmune response rarely needed.

For very extreme cases of collagenous colitis and lymphocytic colitis, bypass of the colon or surgery to remove all or part of the colon has been done in a few patients.

Please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you with appropriate medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
