Hello! looks like your wife has developed bronchospasm (constriction of her airways) due to metoprolol . Also her heart rate is 59 (bit below normal). Hence kindly review with your physician regarding the reason for starting on metoprolol (a beta blocker)and discuss regarding feasibility of shifting to some other safer medication .For symptomatically benefit for her breathing difficulty she might bronchodilator medications (drugs that dilate the airways n make it easier to breathe) for a short term .
