My right ear feels like it needs to be popped. I woke up like this last week, and since then I ve heard ringing in my ear and when people talk to me their voices sound robotic. I went to a doctor and they removed some wax, but as of now there is no wax blocking my ear. It s been difficult to hear people talk to me

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Your eustachian tube connects the throat and middle ear. This tube controls air pressure on the ear drum and prevents damage to the ear drum. It seems to have obstructed, mostly due to edema and inflammation. If you have accompanying cold or sinus involvement, vapor inhalation and decongestant pill like Sinarest would relieve you. In case it increase in symptoms or there is no relief with home care, consult an ENT doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
