Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cough

Hi I have had a chronic cough for several months and have had several tests done such as a chest xray, cat scan, pet scan and a lung test and the dr. said that all tests came back fine. I take Atenolo , Omeprazole, simvestatin, ursodiol. I stopped taking certizine because I thought that may be causing my cough and I didn t see any difference. I looked up the side effects of Hydrochlorthiazide and i stopped taking this on 4/29 and I started feeling better but the last few days I have started coughing really bad again and don t what to do?

hello
welcome to hcm
well its not hydrochlorthiazide which is causing problem, its infact ATENOLOL which is causing chronic cough...atenolol belongs to a group of drugs called as BETA BLOCKERS and persistent chronic cough is their most common side effect so ask your treating doctor to change tablet atenolol with some other alternative drug and once you stop taking atenolol you cough will automatically subside in 2-3 days
regards
