Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation And Weight Loss

Hi doctors, appreciate for the valuable support. Its great. Well, my symptomps and problems are as follows - 1) Digestion issues since last 2 years to date. No proper passing of stool.i mean the stool is always less in amount sometimes watery at a times dry and small amount. Burning abdomens and intestines. Though I eat the right portion. My doctors prescribe me fibre and digestive enzmyes capsules. Am only good as long as i take the meds. After stopping meds same issues reoccur.Currently issues- 1-anal fissure for the last 6 or more months.2-Constipation.very difficult to pass stool. So again doctors prescribe fibre and laxative. Again am only good as long as i take the meds. After stopping meds same issues reoccur. 3- Weight loss After adviced by doctors. I drink lots of water. Fibre rich food. Vegs. Thing is since last 2 years suffering from these issues and still it exists. Totally living on meds. WHAT MAJOR CHECKUPS SHOULD I DO.? IS IT OK I KEEP ON TAKING MEDS? Looking forward for advices and support. Regards.

I completely agree that adding fiber to the diet is immensely helpful, and your body may be finally at a point where years of a low fiber diet has taken its toll. Fiber works well in that it absorbs water into the stool and bulks it up. Because it bulks up the stool, this stimulates the intestines to move, and so it helps with constipation. It also has the effect of absorbing any excess fluid, so if you have runny stools, it should help with this as well.

What I am concerned about is the weight loss. Having chronic constipation shouldnt cause weight loss unless there is something else going on. The major checkup I would recommend is to see a gastroenterologist (a stomach and intestines doctor). they may recommend doing a colonoscopy or an endoscopy. these are procedures where they are able to use a camera to look inside your intestines and detect any abnormalities. There are multiple types of diseases that cause constipation and weight loss that can be detected with this type of test, and may provide you with the answers you are looking for. Good luck!!
