Suggest Treatment For Chronic Coated Tongue

Hi, I have an issue with wHite tongue. I am not on any meds. I have talked to my dentist and he said normal, nothing to worry about. I brush my tongue and it never red for long. I eat orange mints for saliva increase. I was told by my NP that I may have candida because of the overall body itching I experience. I was told to try a candida diet. Is there any thing I can try to prevent white tongue.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to Heath Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query white coating on tongue is due to fungal infection in oral cavity which is known as candidiasis or oral thrush. It could also occur along with mild dehydration of oral cavity due to which salivary flow is less in oral cavity and it causes accumulation of microbes in oral cavity. Chronic white watches could be due to leucoplakia in mouth.

I would suggest you to take anti fungal medicines such as Nystatin, Fluconazole. Use Colloidal silver as gargle agent, take in mouth, take it till throat region and spit it out is very effective to prevent these patches. Take yogurt or grape seed food extract in diet on daily basis. Apply oxygenating toothpaste on tongue for 2-4 minutes it will help to remove patches.

If your condition keeps on persisting visit dentist once and get these white patches scrap down for biopsy to rule out underlying cause as these could be leucoplakic patches.

Maintain basic oral hygiene. Hope your concern has been resolved.
