Suggest Treatment For Chronic Bilateral Collar Bone Pain

I have chronic bilateral collar bone pain. I also have systemic lupus and am when I have joint pain it is usually bilateral in nature with the most recent pain being in both elbows (for the past 4-5 months). This collar bone pain feels different and I have had it off and one for the past year. Could it be GI related or should I chalk it up to lupus aches and pains?

Hi,

You are a known case of systemic lupus and do get joint pains now more in both elbows, but also have in both collarbones.
This indicates the local cause like fibromyositis, deposit in the bone and muscles.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways
Clinical examination by your Doctors or Orthopedic Surgeon.
MRI of the affected areas to decide the cause, the extent and thus have proper plan of management.
Blood tests according to the clinical picture to add on the management.
Take rest.
Slings for both upper limbs to give rest to both elbows and the collarbone area.
Painkillers and anti-inflammatory medicines as would be advised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
