been having discomfort in left chest for about three weeks. went to doctor a few days ago and he did a EKG which returned normal results. he told me i have inflammation in my lungs and gave me ibuprofen. while on it i feel less discomfort. i didn t think about this when i was at the doctors office but if this was the case wouldn t i have trouble breathing? because i can breath just fine. also when im laying down i can sometimes feel my heard racing for a few seconds.

HI Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.
Inflammation in lungs need not always cause Breathing difficulty but one classic finding will be the pain increases on taking deep breath which is absent in your case.
I advise you to get further evaluation for your chest pain by doing a TMT test , just to be sure that there is nothing from the heart side . If TMT test comes normal then there is nothing to worry .
Hope you find this information useful.
Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask. Happy to help you.
Thanks gor your query As per your complaint there are so many types of lung inflammation Like bronchitis, pneUmonia, pneumonitis etc For that u have to do chest x ray , Blood count... Then consult your family physician. Get well soon..
