Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having a difficult time ridding myself of congestion and a build up Mucus which causes me to cough trying to loosen up the Mucus. I wonder if Rosuvastatin has that sort of side effect. I started that generic about a month ago after having a rather bad cold . I was on Crestor before that
Hi, Thans for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The reason why you are having chest congestion and mucous appears to be due to allergy rather than the effect of medication what you are using. Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Salt water gargling with warm water. 2. Steam inhalation twice daily. 3. Antiallergic medication Tablet. Fexofenadine once a day for 2 weeks. 4. Avoid intake of cold items like cool drinks and ice-creams. Gradually, your symptoms should get better and you should be back to normal. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
