Suggest Treatment For Cervical Polyp

I started having minor bleeding and spotting after sex 2 weeks ago. I went to the doctor 1 week ago to have it checked out and was told that I have a banine polyp on my cervix. I was also told that I have an infection so I was given a gel med to cure it. It s been nearly 2 weeks since I started bleeding and I m on day 3 of the medicated gel and im still bleeding. It seems like the bleeding has increased. Is this normal? Shouldn t it be getting better? This also isn t common for girls like me, I m 29 with zero pregnancies.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Cervical polyp is not common in ladies not having children They are common in women having children/in pre menopausal period.
It is some times secondarily infected when oral antibiotics are proffered.While application of antibiotic get the polyp can be touched, pushed which will cause increased bleeding. Antibiotics will cause clearance of infection & not the polyp.
Polyp needs to be removed surgically ,with tying it's base & cauterizing the base to prevent further bleeding.
