Suggest Treatment For Calcified Granuloma Of The Brain

Hello - My sister is having headaches from past few years. In winters her condition get worse. 3 years ago in a CT scan head we came to know that she is having 7 mm * 5 mm calcified granuloma in her right high region. Since then she is taking medicines but sometimes she is careless in taking those. Now after 3 years to see the condition we again had a CT scan but this time the finding shows 7.3 mm * 6.5 mm calcified granuloma. Can you please suggest is it dangerous as it increased a bit in size ? How it will be cured ?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

An increase in the size of calcified granuloma can lead to compression of surrounding brain tissue. Calcification of granuloma suggests that the disease is no longer active. The calcified granuloma can be removed surgically.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
