Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation On Pilonidal Cyst
I was diagnosed with a pilonidal cyst and the doctors said surgery was not required since my condition is minor. They gave me antibiotics and told me to continue warm compresses and hot baths and I did just that and today as it seems the cyst has popped but it keeps burning. I ve cleaned it with peroxide but the burning won t stop. Is this normal?
Pilonidal cyst is a condition in which there is a skin or granular lining and that keeps secreting. Pent up secretions cause the cyst to tense up, infected and opened up. Once opened up then it is a recurrent condition unless treated well. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines will cause temporary relief.
Pilonidal cyst or sinus needs to be excised completely for cure. There are always chances of recurrence and is a part of treatment. Thus, stop worrying about recurrence and get operated, it is possible that this will be the first and last surgery with permanent cure. Get operated at an appropriate time after consulting a General Surgeon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
