Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation In The Eye Due To Dust

HI, I was mowing my lawn today and got dust in my eye and I think I triggered a severe allergic reaction. My left eye is severely burning. When I wash it out with cold water, the relief is instantaneous. Then I go sit down and when I blink the eye burns like a blow torch is on it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and I understand your concern. You have developed burning sensation in eye due to allergic reaction of dust. I would suggest to consult the ophthalmologist for examination and take proper prescribed medicines:

1. Wash eye by Advanced Eye Relief Eye Wash for immediate relief.

2. Apply eye drops containing chorpheniramine maleate.

3. Apply lubricating eye drops like LUBREX/ REFRESH Tablet levocetrizine at the bedtime.

4. Apply cold compression, wear goggles when you want to go outside.
