Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation During Urination

I am experiencing severe burning when I urinate. Started today. Very recently my partner confessed to sleeping with someone else. We have had unprotected sex since then. No discharge pain other thAn during urination and short time after. However, late afternoon today, I did feel feverish and weak. Should I be concerned? What can this be? Could it be just a bladder infection? Thank you Elizabeth

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms you have described are suggestive of urinary tract infection. I will suggest you to get a urine examination done to confirm the diagnosis and get further treatment accordingly.
In the meantime, you should take plenty of water and can take urinary alkaliser syrup.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma
