My father has had inguinal repair 7 days ago. He is 86 years of age and his haemaglobin preop was 10.4 it subsequently dropped to 6.5 And is being transfused 2 units at home . My question is should he still be taking aspirin and also I have noticed he has further bruising on his right upper leg . Is this an indication that perhaps he is bleeding into the tissue?
Aspirin does cause bleeding from stomach, intestine other parts of the body. This is one of the side effects.
