Suggest Treatment For Breathlessness Caused By Severe Anxiety

Hi Ip have seen my PCP for my breathing issue. I can only describe it like I feel like I always gave to take deep breaths (like a sigh) all the time. My Dr said he believed it s anxiety. He checked for asthma & doesn t believe it is asthma. I went to a Pulmonologist & had a PFT & my results were normal. I always feel like I am struggling to breathe.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would suggest you get your BMI done as well as cardiac function- 2d echo, ECG, Thyroid profile and sleep study as well. Then see your physician with the tests. I am sure you will get the cause of your problem.
Breathing problems can be caused by weight issues, anemia, cardiac disease and thyroid dysfunction too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shah Sayeema Nissar Kirmani, General & Family Physician
