Suggest Treatment For Body Pain, Rheumatoid Arthritis And Loss Of Appetite

Hi My father has Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) for 1 year. He has lost his appetite since he was diagnosed with RA. According to him, RA general body pain caused loss of appetite gradually over time. He lost 14lb and he looks scrawny. Is there any appetizer in form of medicine, syrup or etc. to help him retrieve his appetite? Thank you for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since your father has a history of RA, he should avoid sedentary lifestyle. Sedentary lifestyle triggers bodyache & joint pain. He should do stretch exercises & walking regularly in the premises of the house.

This will keep the body healthy & joints lubricated. Give him vitamin E rich food or supplements.

To get relieve from pain he can take NSAIDS, one sos when needed. For loss of appetite, give him Liv -52, one tab twice daily for 20days. He can also take Cap Aristozyme, one daily 45 minutes before food.

Too much dependency on medicine is not good. Papaya raw or ripe is a natural appetizer.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
