Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
A
varicocele is when veins (pampiniform plexus) become enlarged inside your scrotum.
You may have no symptoms associated with varicocele. But varicoceles are a concern for many reasons. It may be the cause of
fertility problems in about 4 out of 10 men.
Indication for its treatment is when it becomes symptomatic, like in your case.
There are no drugs to treat or prevent varicocele. But use of pain killers such as
acetaminophen or ibuprofen may help to overcome pain.
Surgery is the main form of treatment. It involves blocking the blood flow in the pampiniform plexus veins. It can be done by open surgery or
laparoscopic surgery.
Embolization (briefly blocking the veins) is a non-
surgical treatment option available.
Kindly get yourself evaluated clinically by consulting Surgeon and then go for the best treatment option which would suit you.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
