Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Infection In Women

My girlfriend has been ill and hospitalised with what appeared to be a bacterial infection. All test results have come back negative apart from the STI results which are pending. The illness appears to be clearing up without specific medication. We have only been sexually active with each other for the past year and half. Should i worry about having an STI or should i just wait for her results to come back? I am twenty years old and my girlfriend is 19.
