Suggest Treatment For Asthma And Tightness In Chest

I have asthma and I have very bad tightness in my chest. I take a couple of puffers and they don't help me much. I feel they have caused my throat to be sore and makes me drink water all day and now is waking me in the night for water. The puffers I take is Atrovent and Advair. Is there something else I should be doing? Thanks

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may need to see your doctor for assessment.

There may be triggers for your asthma that need treatment such as allergic sinusitis , allergic rhinitis or GERD.
If triggers are present and can be treated then it may help with asthma control.

It is also possible that your preventer dose may need adjusting till control is attained.

There are also additional medication that can be added for control eg montelukast

I hope this helps
