Suggest Treatment For Arthritis And Lower Back Pain

Hi I am a 47 year old female beauty therapist and have had a bad back for a couple of years. I have just had an X-ray on my lower back and have been told I have moderate arthritis in my spine and worse in L5 S1, the pain I have is in my lower back with aching in my glutes and down my legs, I have had 2 sessions with a physio and since then have had fluttery feelings mainly on my right side middle back and lower back. Could this be caused by the joints rubbing together?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The fluttering you feel in the lower back could be intestinal movements with gas (stimulated by physiotherapy exercises which is a good sign for health) or muscle twitches due to irritated or pinched nerves in arthritis joint... (Needs to be confirmed by MEI... followed by revision of the physiotherapy exercises).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
