Suggest Treatment For Anxiety, Muscle Weakness And Fatigue

My 56 year old daughter suffers from a combination of depression/anxiety on the one hand and simultaneous pronounced muscle weakness and fatigue. These seem to be coupled together, but she is not sure. She is a practicing physical therapist and has lead a very active and energetic life until recently, when the combined effect has proven to be very debilitating. The psychiatrists, psychologists and neurologists she has consulted have not been able to help. Any suggestions about where to turn would be most welcome. In particular, does Mayo offer expertise in what appears to be a neuromuscular problem ? Would it be worth a visit to the clinic for its advice ? (She lives in Portland Oregon, but is getting desparate for relief and would seriously consider making the trip. Many Thanks, Carl Shiffman YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

As she is suffering from anxiety so due to that she feels fatigue and weakness. Though iron deficiency anemia can cause also which is common in women.

I suggest you take her to a psychiatrist first and address his problem. As anxiety controls she will feel better. You also show her to a physician for the possibility of anemia.

There is no need to worry as she receives the proper treatment she will return to normal. Moreover never let her alone, keep her busy in work and ask her to relax, social interaction with friends, family will help a lot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
