Suggest Treatment For Anaemia

I have been diagnosed with anaemia waiting to see bowel surgeon GPs will not prescribe Iron as wants to see what consultant says see him in 12 days my daughter does not sleep as she is autistic I work full time and am shattered also have heart valve issues see cardiologist yearly will go sign me off for this as I feel terrible just want to sleep!

Hello,

I understand your concern. The first thing to do is determine the cause of anemia and this is done by ruling out an internal bleeding first. Taking iron would mask the real level of anemia and that is why the doctor refused to prescribe it.
I suggest that in the mean time you try a gradual correction of the anemia through iron rich foods such as meat, pulses and beer root and also leafy greens.
Protein shakes and caffeine drinks can be a source of short term energy just to get you through the day.
