Suggest Treatment For An Abscess On The Arm

I had an abscess form over a week ago at the bend of my arm, once it grew a large head it popped on its own. I have had one prior abscess in almost the same spot and it drained and healed fine....this one started to drain similarly but now it is much different. I still can t extend my arm fully, I have a hardness above and below the bend of my arm, and the hole where it was draining from is how dry and the skin at the bend of my arm seems like its dying. Is it at all possible that hot compresses will help and what are the risks if I leave this untreated? I do not have health insurance so would like to avoid medical bills if possible...

HI
Well come to HCM
Your query is appreciated, if this is the abscess then it must have some inflammation some time it is spread to some extend in surrounding areas which could limit the articulation if the inflammation is near the joint, but once the infection is over, after draining of puss and completion of anti-biotic course everything would be fine and there would be no symptoms of hardness and other, you can try the hot compression, hope this information helps.
