Suggest Treatment For Acute Testicle Pain

Hi Doctors, I am 26 year old male.5 days back i had suffered acute pain in my testes. The right testicle was where the pain was and the pain was reaching till my lower stomach. Which gradually decreased the following day. I read on a website that it could be an infection and we can take antibiotics to cure it like ciprofloxin or ofloxacin. So I am taking ofloxacin 200mg twice daily from 4 days now and the pain has settled. I just wanted to ask whether I am taking the right medication and the right dose in which it should be taken. Please tell me if i should try something else.

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns...
are u sexually active? any history of trauma to testis? any discharge from urethra? any abnormal rotation of testis? any redness on scrotum? any swelling in testis?
in my opinion you should be seen by a doctor so that proper diagnosis can be made . there are alot of differentials for acute testicular pain like torsion , epididymo orchitis etc..
antibiotics we use when there is evidence of infection but these should be tailored according to culture and sensitivity...
as u have started the medication my advise for u to take it atleast for five days along with painkillers. take rest and wear underwear..try to avoid any sexual intercourse atleast for a week..
if symptoms recur then immediately consult ur doctor and u may need to get a scrotal ultrasound scan.....
all the best
regards
