Is Penis Pain A Side Effect Of Methadone?

I recently completed a methadone program. It's been 8 weeks since I tapered my dose down to nothing and walked away from any more treatment. Two weeks ago I began experiencing very minor right testicle pain. Could this be a result of the methadone treatment?

Hi! One of the less common side effects of methadone is spasm of the ureter(the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder). A spasm( sudden constriction) in this area is sometimes felt as a pain in the testicle of the same side(this is called referred pain - pain felt at a site remote from the actual lesion, in this case the spasm). However you having been having this pain AFTER having stopped
methadone. It is therefore unlikely that your this pain is a side effect of your therapy. I would suggest a complete check up to get to the bottom of your symptom. All the best!
