Suggest Treatment For Acute Pancreatitis

Dear Dr. Rynne, My Dr. s told me my test results said I had low grade acute pancreatitis. When I tried to question her she just told me to rest. I ve been unable to speak with by Dr. What does that diagnosis mean? Thank you, and God Bless! Sally Schaffer

Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Low grade acute pancreatitis means as follows:
Pancreatitis as you may know is inflammation of the endocrine as well as exocrine gland behind the stomach in abdomen called pancreas which produces Insulin to control blood sugar and exocrine juices which help in digestion of food.
Low grade is self explanatory meaning it is of nature that one can wait and watch and have proper treatment to get cured.
Acute is just happened.
Rest is very important part of management and further investigations will lead to know the causes and gives a plan of management. For example ERCP, MRCP, blood tests of pancreas, liver and kidney functions.
Once the cause is found it should be treated accordingly for the possible cure otherwise there is a chance of recurrence.
