Suggest Treatment For Acute Colitis

I was diagnosed this past Thursday with acute colonitis (CT scan at hospital). I was given IV antibiotics and sent home with prescriptions for Cipro 500 mg 2/day and Flagyl 500 mg 2/day. I was told to rest my colon and only have clear liquids until I felt ready to slowly add bland foods. I only had clear liquids for the first 2 days, and tried broth with rice and a piece of plain toast yesterday. I m still not feeling well and my bowels are still extremely loose and unpredictable . I have NO energy and feel very shaky. How long does it typically take to start to feel better?
