Suggest Treatment For Abnormal Liver Function

Hi, I have had an irregular heart beat for about 3 weeks and had a blood test. The blood test revealed an abnormal level for liver function - Raised ALT? I have been sent for further blood tests to check for Ceelic screen -Tissue Transglutamine,Autoimmune profile,Anti Nuclear Ab screen ANA, Protein Electrophoresis, Aspartate aminotransferase AST. Also having a test for hepatitis, ferritin, gamma GT and liver function. I am not sure how the liver can be linked with the heart flutters and have come off caffeine for a week now and feel slightly better. Heart irregularities are far less now. Could the liver be linked to the heart issue? I don t drink excessive alcahol.

Thank you for posting query.

Alcohol is a "mitochondrial poison". It is toxic to liver, heart and many other organs.
increase in the level of liver enzymes(AST,ALT) reflect an INJURY to the Liver. medically, the condition is know as "Hepatitis". It maybe caused by viral infection, alcohol, certain drugs, autoimmune diseases, gall stones, increased iron, increased copper, increased fat in body.
kindly also test for HepB and C viral serology and get an ultrasound done of abdomen.

advice:
abstinence from "Alcohol and drugs"
- LOW fat diet should be followed
- NO red meat
- vegetables should be ingested daily
- Moreover, less activity should be carried out (no sports).
- use lemon juice (lemonade) once in a day
- walk 30 to 40 minutes everyday.
- or swimming is alternative to walking
- NO sports and NO jogging
-"recheck liver enzymes after 6 to 8 weeks".
