Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Tenderness And Bloating

Hi I m a 52yo female, RN with RLQ pn x6d. LMP 11mos ago. I had similar sx s 6mos ago and ended up having an appy because they couldn t visualize my appendix on CT or MRE (otherwise both tests were wnl- no thickening or gyn findings) Also no pathology found during surgery- the appendix was just atrophied- removed to r/o chronic appendicitis since it wasn t well visualized and pn persisted... No f/c, n/v, wt loss, etc. I ve done well since but now feels like much of this has recurred. My GI MD said I should have a CLN even though last one 2yrs ago was NL (though I was asx) need to r/o ileitis... (but the MRE was neg and my SR is nl) I talked my PCP into ordering a pelvic u/s for this bout . I have no diarrhea or any change in bm s but I have some mild abd tenderness/bloating. I have a hx of ovarian cysts- but none were seen on CT previously- no recent CT s done. Do I really need another CLN? (obviously I don t WANT one- but understand that s definitive dx to r/o ileitis) No fhx for IBD. Your thoughts? tx- Debbie (sorry- nevermind- wanted GI opinion~ thought 1st short answer was free- my misunderstanding)

Respected debbie, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
reviewing all the things in details my clinical experience is coming to the conclusion as its non-specific gastrointestinal discomfort due to vivid reasons might be insufficiency of digestive enzymes / disturbances in gi motility.
Any futher evaluation you will undergo either in form of USG / CT / MRI / colonoscopy is going to turn out normal.
What at all you can do is just follow simple steps in your routine to lessen it to some extent :
* Avoid oily , spicy , nonveg stuffs till possible.
* Keep your stomach empty by 20 % in every meals or dinners.
* Don`t attain lying down position for atleast 2 hours after lunch / dinner.
* Have more liquids , green leafy vegetables , cereals, pulses, curd, butter
milk etc. for better digestion.
* avoid stress / angerness episodes dumping gi power.
* Avoid tobacco / alcohol / beverages if consuming any.
* Take adequate sleep of 8 hours regularly.
* Perform light exercises at home and YOGA daily for 30 min.
* Early morning fresh air walk is also very helpful.
* Proton pump inhibitors , digestive enzymes , antispasmodics we decide in
our clinic after clinical evaluation of the patient.
Hope this clears your query to some extent.
