Hello,

You are suffering from abdominal pain, gas and mucus in the bowel movement. You had to hold your poop for quite lot of time. You are suggested to take adequate amount of water and fluids to help better bowel movement and help you get relieved. Stay at rest for some time. You can take antacids or PPIs, Pan-40, once daily for 3-5 days to prevent the formation of gas. It will also help to reduce pain.

You can get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) and stool examination (R/E and C/S) to find out any pathology that needs to be treated. Get clinically examined by a GP or urologist. Stay away from addictions, smoking, drugs, alcohol, etc. Add more fiber in your diet and avoid taking processed food, packaged food, refined flour, full fat dairy products, red meat, trans fat, etc., for a couple of days while you are being treated.

Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected and on the severity of your symptoms. You may need a course of antibiotics, analgesics, etc. In case you have abdominal pain that persists, you can take Spasmol (dicyclomine, dextropropoxyphene, paracetamol), one stat for relief. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
