Suggest Treatment For A Large Rash On The Breast And Small Red Spots On The Stomach And Vagina

My daughter, 30 years old, just returned with her husband from a short vacation at a mountain retreat in Sugar Hill, NC. She is breaking out with large rash on her breasts, around the nipple area and her breasts are swollen & sore. She also has this rash in spots on her stomach and this morning notices same in her vaginal area. They spent quite a bit of time in a heavily chlorined hot tub.... What do you think this could be?

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the rashes on breast, stomach and vagina after history of hot bath tub exposure indicate fungal or viral infection of the skin most likely. Guidelines for better recovery:
- Local application of polymycin or neomycin cream if no history of drug sensitivity
- Wear loose, clean, cotton clothes
- Avoid tight bra and underwear
- Avoid sexual intercourse (as there is rash on vaginal area as well)
- Cetirizine if there is itching
- Prescription of antibiotics as cephalexin or doxycycline for faster recovery as per the choice of your treating consultant
