Suggest Treatment For UTI

went to dr because I knew I had a UTI (chemical smell of urine, burning etc) I just started my period. She looked at urine under scope saw urine with blood but said she thought maybe I had BV. The metro gel didnt work so I did an AVO UTI test at home and it was off the charts with UTI. She gave me Macrobid. After 2 days started getting sweaty, neck pain, headache, lower back pain etc...after 5 days I stopped taking because felt like I was toxic and very ill. Now I have a lingering headache/neck pain and lower back pain. Have you heard this from Macrobid?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to side effects of Macrobid.

I suggest doing a urine test to confirm if the infection is treated properly.

I also suggest to drink liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
