Suggest Treatment For Sarcoidosis

I was diagnosedwith sarcoidosis 4 years ago. I did not stay in physician care but returned this year. T he doctor now treats melike itis not a serious illness and my symptoms are in my head. This doctor gave me 5 years to live 4 years ago. I finally stopped work because I do feel extremely weak. I do have a hard time getting enough air. Yet my breathing test states Im at 80% this was with medication. So she wont help me get disability. I am always in pain. I spasm badly when trying to sweep a floor yet she says Im fine. I did do sleep study that said I sleep 17 minutes an hour. I have a bi-pap machine. Not helping. Just cannot get usede toit. My question is why was it serious 4 years ago and now when I feel I cant go no more doctor acts like its all in my mind. I know what I am feeling, why wont anything show up. Ct scan reveals I still have it but they claim not as bad. I dont understand.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
thanks for your question
I completely understand your question
sarcoid is a autoimmune disease and treatment involves giving drugs to suppress the immune system.
drugs which are now a days used are steroids and cyclophosphamide

sarcoid in lung has 4 stages depending on the lung lesions and hilar lymphatics

first you should visit / consult a pulmonologist who can accurately diagnose and stage the disease and then he can prescribe you drugs to slow the progression of the disease
sometimes giving treatment sarcoidosis can be controlled on low dose of steroids and a continous low dose is needed

sarcoid is a self limiting disease also it can reverse itself by its own in some cases

so you should now visit a pulmonologist and disscuss the above treatment modalities and wat next to do

thanks
feel free to ask more questions
may god bless you with good health
