Suggest Treatment For PCOS

I am 31 years old and I was diagnosed with a PCOS type syndrome. Fortunately, I have 2 kids so the PCOS is the one which affect 10% of the concerned patients. My symptoms are as follows: - Weight gain - Acne - excessive hairiness - Fatigue, Exhaustion - Depression I am doing 3 hours exercise every week, I am eating healthy and I care about quantity. However, I can t reduce all the symptoms mentioned above. I consulted doctors who advised me to take contraceptive tablets along with medications to reduce blood insulin. This is a long term treatment which I followed for 3 to 4 months. Although, I saw some improvements, I realize that I can t continue to take these medications all my life, since the side effects can be much worse. My question is, what are the alternative, natural treatments for this disease? Thanks Regards J.

Hi,

The main goal of treatment of PCOS is diet and exercise.
I would like to know your height and present weight, so I could calculate your BMI.
A healthy lifestyle with controlled diet and exercise are key in treatment of PCOS.
I would also like to know if your periods are regular or not, as if they are not regular then you can take progesterone tablets for withdrawal to get menses.
This is because women with PCOS are more likely to get endometrial cancer if they do not have regular periods.
Also, heart disease and diabetes are more common, and these have to be checked regularly in women with PCOS.

Since, you already have 2 children and I assume not interested in having more ,oral contraceptive could be a good choice, which can be taken till your menopause, but if you are absolutely not in their favor, then Diet , exercise, progesterone withdrawal and regular checks to check BP and diabetes should help.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
