Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello i have a mernia iud and it has been in place for almost a year with no problems. I have a very regular period, have never missed one and i am now 2-3 days late. I am sexually active and have not been using condoms because i have been with the same partner for 4 years now. I have had 2 negative pregnancy tests. Should i be concerned?
I would advise you to repeat the pregnancy test in another 2-3 days. If the test remains negative then you are not pregnant and your periods will very likely come in the next 2 weeks. S
o, you do not need to worry at the moment but just confirm you are not pregnant (by repeating the test) and just keep an eye on your periods. If you are not pregnant and do not get your periods in 2-3 weeks, you may need to talk to your doctor.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family physician
