Suggest Treatment For GERD In A 6 Months Old Child

I have a 6month old baby that screams in pain at night. He is on meds for gerd but is not getting better. I am looking for ideas on what else could be going on. He is 23 pounds so everyone says he is fine because he is gaining weight. He eats at night when nothing else will calm him down.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually Gerd at this age may take a few months to settle down.
Continue medicines as advised.
Try thickened feeds.
Feed him with head up. Pat him well after feeds and put him down only after burping.
He should improve soon.
Wishing your child speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
