Suggest Suitable Treatment For A Heart Condition

Hi There I have been diagnosed with SVT about 4 months ago, I have not seen a heart specialist only my local doctor after the ER picked up my SVT. My doctor has put me on verapamil, and I have not had an episode since. he told me that this drug is very effective for heart problems. I am about to fly to Eurpoe from Australia soon 15 hour flight up front. Am I safe to fly with this condition please? My doctor seems to think so.

Hi welcome to HCM.
PSVT in your case seems to be effectively managed by medical therapy verapamil. In case if you do not have any symptoms, get a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out any organic heart disease and to know the baseline cardiac reserve before flying. Also monitor the vital parameters like blood pressure and heart rate .A normal range of all these parameters with ejection fraction above 55% can make a medically fit person to fly or air travel.Consult an expert cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
