ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Retracted tympanic membrane may be due to otitis media with effusion. It is inflammation of the middle ear without any bacterial infection. It causes retracted tympanic membrane. Take a short course of antibiotic tab Augmentin for 1 week. Take Levocetirizine tablet at bedtime for 2 week. Take proper steam inhalation. Start fluticasone nasal spray 2 puff at bedtime for 1 month. Take steam inhalation. Do valsalva maneuver, for ED expiration with nose and mouth closed. It will help in resolution of the inflammation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
