Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is 6 and her tonsil is swollen and touches that hangy thing in back of throat...we already had a strep test and it was negative. this seems to come and go .but she is hurting and I want to try and figure out why she is like this. if you can help in any way that would be great .
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of swollen tonsils which seems to be due to infection leading to tonsillitis.
Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to do betadine gargles after every three hours and take antibiotic Azithromycin along with multivitamin. Take diet rich in fruits and vegetables which will boost your immunity. If your symptoms keeps on persisting even after 1 week then visit pediatrician once to get it checked properly and take proper prescription for your condition. Keep chewing basil leaves in small quantity. If it keeps on recurring with repeated infections you should go for tonsillectomy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
