Hello. My 2 yr old had a sudden episode of vomiting 6 days ago. No bm on that day. The following day he passed a rather compacted stool. Still vomiting some. Loss of appetite. The following day he had a really bad case of diarrhea--once. No vomiting. After that, he vomited once and a regular bm. Fifth day he had vomited once, no bm, & his stomach is distended. I took him to the er, the night of the first onset of symptoms. They said it was a upper respiratory virus. Gave him anti-nausea med and sent us home. I am concerned that he is now adding to his ongoing symptoms with his distended abdomen. I haven t noticed him passing gas either. Should I be more concerned that it is more than just a virus?
