Suggest Remedy For Sore Ribs Due To Bronchitis

Hello Dr. I am on Doxycycline hyclate 100 mg for Bronchitis - my ribs are sore from cough for a few weeks. I went to the dr. and she felt my sides and asked if it hurt, well of course it didn t hurt then, but now it does. I just took two aspririn to see if it will help. I do have ashtma and this started Aug. 17th I was on prednisone and sulfa. That didn t clear it up, so that s why i m on the second antibiotic. I coughed violently for a while. That s it. My problem is the sore ribs.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should get further evaluated doing a bronchoscopy because antibiotics aren't working for you. Your ribs are possibly hurting because of strong cough. Get further evaluated by a pneumologist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
