Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis And Ribcage Pain
I went to doctor today and they said I have bronchitis. I have severe pain in my ribs n sharp pain in my chest. I weigh 107 pds n the medicine I started today is a 825mg amox. I am sick from medicine n this pain in my ribs is severe. What should I do.?

In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection as chest pain is also seen in infection.
PFT is must for diagnosis of bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
Inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) are the treatment of choice for bronchitis.
So first diagnose yourself properly and then start appropriate treatment.

By your history and description, possibility of pleuritic chest pain is more. The most common cause for this is lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI). Bronchitis is also a cause for this.
But better to get done chest x ray to rule out LRTI.
If chest x ray is normal then you should start inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) along with antibiotic.
Inhaled treatment is first line treatment for bronchitis.
Proper treatment will mostly relieve your pain in 1-2 weeks duration.
